Lori-Suzanne dell
Lori-Suzanne Dell grew up in Southampton, on New York's Long Island. She was educated in Catholic Schools and at La Salle Military Academy.
She worked in the fire department and in Emergency Medical Service, in both volunteer and professional capacities. In 1988, as Captain, she led the Randolph Fire Department to win the 2nd Place Overall State Fire Marshal's Trophy at the Maine State Federation of Firefighters Convention at Augusta, Maine. In 1990, injuries forced her retirement from firefighting.
She then pursued her B.A. in History and English Language and Literature at both the University of Southern Maine in Portland and Southern New Hampshire University in Brunswick, Maine. She completed internships at both the Maine Historical Society in Portland and the Pejepscot Historical Society in Brunswick.
She has worked on many numerous political campaigns and has served as the Maine Media Representative for Presidential Candidate Charles Woods, and as the Sagadahoc County coordinator for Ross Perot. And, for 15 years, she served as a sworn, Town Council-appointed volunteer member of various committees within the Brunswick Town Government.
She has written feature stories of news and local history for numerous Maine newspapers; such as the Times Record, Harpswell Anchor, Coastal Journal, Free Press, Bowdoin Magazine, and the Lewiston Sun Journal.
She has also worked on several major feature film and television productions, including; "Sweet Liberty" 1985, "The Preacher's Wife" 1996, "Boomers" 1997, "The Man Without a Face" 1993, and "Message in a bottle" 1999. She has created both the "This Is..." biography series and the "Stories From Maine" video series, which aired on Amazon Prime and now airs on YouTube.
Dell also administers the popular Facebook page "Stories From Maine," which boasts a large and live following. Dell is the author of four books; Texas City: Love Amid The Ruins, The Quill & The Bayonet, Stories From Maine, and Stories from Maine II. Her upcoming book, A Fallen Star, shall publish on May 1st of 2023, with Amazon Books.
Today, Lori-Suzanne offers lectures, appears at many author events, and teaches occasional courses with Merry Meeting Adult Education in Topsham, Maine. Dell also volunteers her time as a Disaster Action Team Member with the American Red Cross and as a transport driver for Passion For Pets Rescue in Brunswick.
Dell is an animal lover and a lifelong - die-hard - New York Mets fan who has made her home - for the last 30 years - in Brunswick, Maine.
